The Truth about Islam

The Truth about Islam

The religion of Islam is a false religion begun by a false prophet preaching a false gospel and false god. We are all unrighteous sinners who deserve to go to hell (Romans 3:10, 12, 23), but only in true Christianity can we be saved by putting all of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who, as the Savior, died for our sins in our place and rose again as the perfect and only substitute (I Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 6:23). The Qur’an says that one’s good deeds must outweigh their bad deeds to enter heaven (Qur’an 7:8-9; 23:102-103; 101:6-11), but this is impossible (see Romans 3:19; Galatians 2:16). Muhammed did not even know if he would go to heaven or hell (Qur’an 46:9; cf. I John 5:13). Jesus is the only way to heaven (John 14:6; Acts 4:12), not Muhammed. Muhammed could not have been the last prophet, because the prophetic age ended at the time of Christ (see I Corinthians 13:8-10; Hebrews 1:1-2), after which no more prophets would arise. Jesus is the final messenger of the Father (see Matthew 21:33-37).

Problems with the Qur’an: Islam’s False Book

The Qur’an is among the worst books ever written. The Qur’an describes itself as “the most beautiful message in the form of a book” (Quran 39:23), but it is an incoherent, worthless, and confusing book of nonsense. The Qur’an, in its original Arabic, is full of grammatical errors (for example, incorrect Arabic verb-conjugation, Qur’an 7:56; 22:19, 41:11; 49:9). Muhammed was an illiterate fool (Qur’an 7:157; 29:48)—unlike Jesus, who was fully literate (see Luke 4:16-17)—which makes sense of the idiocy of his “revelations.” The Qur’an is not from God, and is a purely human invention. It is contradictory, and it is historically and scientifically inaccurate.

The Qur’an is Contradictory. The Qur’an repeatedly affirms that the Bible—the Law of Moses (e.g., Qur’an 2:53), the Psalms of David (e.g., Qur’an 17:55), and the Gospel of Jesus (e.g., Qur’an 5:46-47)—is the word of Allah, and “no change can there be in the words of Allah” (Qur’an 10:64). Muslims say that “the Bible is corrupted,” but this is not what Muhammed believed. According to the Qur’an, Allah promises to guard his words from corruption (Qur’an 15:9)—if the Bible was corrupted, Allah is a liar. Furthermore, the Qur’an claims that Allah inspired Jesus’s disciples who wrote the gospel accounts (Qur’an 5:111), like Matthew and John, and made sure that their message prevailed (Qur’an 61:14). The Qur’an sternly warns that if someone rejects any of Allah’s messengers or books, including the Gospel of Jesus, they are on the path to hell (Qur’an 4:136, 150-152; see 29:46).

Qur’an 10:94: “If thou wert in doubt as to what we have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the book from before thee…”

The Quran claims to be “consistent with itself” (Qur’an 39:23), but there are many contradictions throughout it. In fact, that Quran tells us that if it is contradictory, it is not God’s word: “Do they not consider the Qur’an with care? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy” (Qur’an 4:82). For example, did Allah create the universe in 6 days (Qur’an 7:54) or 8 days (Qur’an 41:9-12)? Was man created from nothing (Qur’an 19:76), a clot of blood (Qur’an 96:2), water (Qur’an 21:30), clay/mud (Qur’an 15:26), or dust (Qur’an 3:59)? Are Muslims the only ones who will go to heaven (Qur’an 3:85), or will Jews and Christians also go to heaven (Qur’an 2:62)? These are all contradictory statements that cannot all be true.

The Qur’an is Historically and Scientifically Inaccurate. The Qur’an makes many historical errors, like mistaking Haman as pharaoh’s prime minister (Qur’an 40:36-37; see the book of Esther), or stating that the Samaritans made the golden calf in Moses’ time (Qur’an 20:85-88; see Exodus 32). It denies that Jesus died on the cross (Qur’an 4:157), but that he did is one of the most certain facts in all of ancient history (see Mathew 27; I Peter 1:11, 2:24; John 19). The Qur’an also makes many unscientific claims: that the sun and moon follow each other in their orbits (Qur’an 36:40), that the sun sets in “a spring of murky water” (Qur’an 18:83-86), that the earth is flat (Qur’an 71:19), and that the male reproductive cell is formed between the backbone and the ribs (Qur’an 86:6-7).

Problems with Muhammed: Islam’s False Prophet

Muhammed was probably the vilest and most wicked false prophet of all time, about whose coming Jesus warned us (see Matthew 24:11; see also Galatians 1:6-9). He was (1) demon-possessed, (2) a covetous pirate, (3) violent and bloody, (4) deceptive and dishonest, (5) a polygamist, and (6) a pedophile.

  • Muhammed was Demon-possessed. Based on the earliest biographical accounts of Muhammed’s life (Ibn Ishaq, Al-Tabari, Al-Waquidi, etc.), when Muhammed first began receiving his revelations, he feared that he was demon possessed, and tried to commit suicide multiple times. Whenever he received revelations thereafter, he would swoon, convulse, foam at the mouth, sweat profusely (Sahih Al-Bukhari 1:1:2), and become red with heavy breathing (Sahih Al-Bukhari 6:61:508), which are characteristics of demon-possession (see Mark 9:20). He admits to being possessed and deceived by Satan even in the Qur’an (see Qur’an 22:52; 52:19-22)!
  • Muhammed was a Covetous Pirate. After travelling to Medina, Muhammed and his band of followers undertook a large series of Meccan-caravan raids where they ruthlessly stole from innocent traders. Muhammed demanded that he always receive a fifth share of the plunder (Qur’an 8:41).
  • Muhammed was Bloody and Violent. The themes of violence and physical fighting are tightly interwoven into the Qur’an’s precepts (Qur’an 8:63). The Qur’an commands Muslims to fight (2:216; 4:84, 104), and those who refuse to fight are not to be considered true believers in Islam (Qur’an 4:76; 9:44-45; see also 8:15-16; 9:38-39; 9:81, 94-95). The Qur’an also encourages terrorism and cruel punishment (5:38; 8:12, 60). “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day…until they pay the jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (Qur’an 9:29).
  • Muhammed was Deceptive and Dishonest. There are several times where Muhammed made oaths and then broke them (e.g., Qur’an 66:2), or where he broke treaties/agreements with people (e.g., 2:217)
  • Muhammed was a Polygamist. The Qur’an allows Muslim men to have as many as four wives (4:3). But Muhammed was a hypocrite, and had between 11-15 wives, supposedly because Allah “made it lawful” for him, and only him (see Qur’an 33:50). However, all forms of polygamy are immoral, because God made one woman for one man (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4-6; see also Deuteronomy 17:17). Muhammed also gave permission to Muslim men working for him (and, of course, permission for himself) to possess and exploit female captives as sex-slaves (Qur’an 23:5-6; 70:30).
  • Muhammed was a Pedophile. According to Muslim sources, Muhammed married a six-year-old girl named Aisha, and consummated the marriage when she was just nine (Sahih Al-Bukhari 5:58:234, 236). Amazingly, the Qur’an also casually permits all Muslims to engage in pedophilia (Qur’an 33:49; 65:4)! The Bible teaches, quite contrary to the Qur’an, that marriage should only take place when the woman has fully physically matured (I Corinthians 7:36; Song of Songs 8:8-10).

Problems with Allah: Islam’s False god

Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God (Deuteronomy 32:31; Qur’an 109:1-6). The concept of God in the Bible is of a maximally great being (Psalm 145:3) who is in every way and in every attribute perfect. Islam is a pagan religion that began in a setting of Arabian polytheism. The Bible very clearly commands against being influenced by heathen practices (Deuteronomy 12:29-32; Matthew 6:7). The god of Muhammad (Allah) is a false god. Allah is unjust, because he is said to forgive and punish people completely arbitrarily (see Qur’an 3:129; 5:40; 29:21); those who he wants to save, he guides, and those who he wants to damn, he causes them to stray (e.g., Qur’an 6:125; 32:13). Allah is also unloving, because he only loves those who are devout Muslims (e.g., Qur’an 19:96), whereas the true God of the Bible loves even his enemies (see Matthew 5:44-46; Romans 5:8-10), because he is, by his very nature, love (I John 4:8, 16).

Although there is only one God (see Deuteronomy 6:4; I Corinthians 8:4), the one true God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (I John 5:7). The Quran denies the Trinity (Qur’an 4:171; 5:116), really because Muhammed was a complete fool who thought that Christians believed Allah had physical relations with Mary to produce Jesus (see Qur’an 5:116; 19:92), which is bizarre. Jesus is the Creator (John 1:1-3), and has always existed (John 8:56-59). The fact that Jesus is God is indisputable (see Isaiah 9:6; John 20:27-28; Acts 20:28; Romans 9:5; Philippians 2:5-7; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; I John 5:20). Jesus himself said that he was the Son of God (Mark 14:61-62; John 9:35-38), that he was equal with God (John 5:17-18), and that he had the right to forgive sins as God (Mark 2:5-7) and be worshipped as God (e.g., Matthew 14:33; 28:19).

John 8:23-24: And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
